Purse/wallet theft

Good afternoon residents of Baldock,

I am one of your local officers and would just like to send you some advice regarding purse and wallet thefts whilst out shopping.

We are all very busy people and can be easily distracted at times !

. If you use a handbag, make sure it is closed properly - zipped up preferably - making it more difficult for someone to reach in.

. Never leave your bag unattended in a shopping trolley or buggy.

. If you are carrying your purse or wallet on you, try and make sure these are closed and kept in an inside pocket if possible.

. Be aware of people around you.

. Always look after your bank card and PIN shielding this when using.

. Never tell anyone your PIN and never keep your PIN with your bank card.

Officers will also be around Tesco Baldock in the next few days handing out leaflets and crime prevention advice, if you see us please come and say HI
